The most common names of food sweeteners found on product labels include: sucrose (sugar), glucose, fructose, sorbitol, mannitol, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, saccharin, aspartame, sucralose, acesulfame potassium (acesulfame-K), and neotame.

What Food Sweeteners do:

Food sweeteners add sweetness with or without the extra calories.



Examples of Uses for Food Sweeteners:

They are used in beverages, baked goods, confections, table-top sugar, substitutes, and many processed foods.
